I started this – I need to finish it.

At one time it was easy for me to write a blog post and not worry about what people think. Not worry about what fans think, what my employers think, or what the world thinks. Times have changed.

Goodnight blog – May you rest in Peace.

Dear Ryan: I am so sorry you feel this way. Myself, I never meant to read anything more into your words than what was there. But yes, us Myst fans do try to pick apart every word written. It's the honest truth that some of us just *can't* get enough of Myst games in general. I'm sorry if ever I've done something to piss you off. That wasn't my intent at all. Thanks for all the information you have provided on here. I'll miss you posting truly. You're always a dear friend to me. Say hi in chat if you want. (((((((Ryan aka Grey Dragon)))))

As you are aware, this is a very stressful time for us fans, and we greatly appreciate your blog as a source of information. I do hope that you got in trouble for letting the cat out of the bag, rather than for inaccuracies. But getting in trouble at all for anything you've said is a disservice.
Cyan has always been too secretive. While that is often necessary for business reasons, they seem to us to take it to an extreme, enjoying teasing us with puzzles and hints about what is already a foregone conclusion.
I hope that you will reconsider your decision.

Na... I'm not pissed at any fan. Not you Toria, not Zardoz, not anyone.

The truth of the matter is I taught people to come to my blog for information. Like Jahuti says “and we greatly appreciate your blog as a source of information” and as much as I am honored by that fact. I need to come to the realization that I shouldn’t give information in this matter.

Recently, a man got fired in the game industry because he talked about the PS3. It’s just safer for me right now to back away. I thank you all for coming to my blog and reading in-between the lines. However for my health (Ulcer) and my peace of mind I need to stop it. I’ll be back… Just give me a few months to think...

It's very sad to hear you're leaving the blog, and even sadder if it has something to do with the Myst community.

You have provided the world with some very welcomed news and been a very appreciated source of speculation material. :) You know how it goes; we leave no stone unturned.

But most importantly, your blog has been about You. It has been great reading your comments on life in general. As I already stated @ UO/MO; where do we now go to get our heads kicked?

Thank you for everything!
I'll miss this place.

Health is everything as is peace of mind. Just make sure you feel good. As for sharing info: it's up to you what you want (and are allowed) to share. If we (fans) read stuff that's not there then in the end it's our own perception and you should (try to) not be bothered by that. The fact that you are makes you a nicer person :).

Hope to read your thoughts soon again. Be well!

I agree with everyone else: You need to think of yourself and your health first. You don't need to worry about us... ever. We'll always be here, we're not just fans of the Myst saga, we're fans of you, bra! Oh, and by the way.... I'm LOVIN the Panda XPress. It's out there, and I'm thinking that kinda story is exactly what is needed: something that's far-out and confusing, but funny and fun! Keep up the good work with everything you do, and hopefully the next time you come on and give us a crumb about life/games/etc... it'll be with the perfect (or as close to) piece of mind and body that you're needing.

I'm sorry to see that you're closing down your blog. I found your site just over a month ago. It was great to see into the life of the closest thing to a citizen of the worlds of Myst.

You (the blog representation of you) will be missed.

Thanks for all the fish and great entertainment in your blogs. I've enjoyed reading your thoughts on many subjects. We were glad to have you and Moke drop by the Tapestry shard for the 2nd Anniversary of the end of Uru Live on Thursday night.

One of the things most of us Myst fans enjoy is the clever way that Cyan has given us things to chew on, whether it was Spyder in the old days (I watched from the sidelines :-) ), or now on the DRC forum. We can sometimes get carried away.

Post when you can (safely of course), but take care. Y'all are appreciated.

gd, your posts will be greatly missed. I discovered you late having been away for quite some time due to being left out when uru couldn't run on my mac. but that's not why I'm here.

I hope time away will help whatever it is you need for your own personal sanity. If you can return and write offerings that won't cause trouble or cross the line, then I look forward to that possibility.

You have an uncanny way of touching the fans with your insight, humor and take on life. If you have any doubt, re-read the comments left by all who've come to appreciate that you've never forgotten the fans while also allowing us a small window into knowing better the person you are. Quite a combo if you ask me. You will be greatly missed. Dream well.....;-)

Ryan aka Grey Dragon, you have a good heart. I enjoyed reading your blog entries.

Looking from the outside, perhaps it wasn't clear on Cyan's part, on what you could say and not say. Hindsight is a wonderful thing - and maybe, in the past, it wasn't as much of an issue. Anyway, I bet it's hard figuring out what's right to say and what you can and can't say. That would be stressful to me. I haven't seen many people negotiate that world successfully.

Everyone likes to get inside info, on new products, new games, new movies, new stuff! People who make the new stuff - if they say anything publically - their every word gets picked apart. That can't be fun.
