Ouch, I think I am offended.
So the local variety paper “The Pacific Northwest Inlander” wrote this article. I sincerely hope they misplaced it under the good news section, considering it is nothing but bad news. If the “Inlander” was to lay off its employees, I think the staff there would consider it bad news, don’t you? For a paper I have learned to love and enjoy reading, this is the first time I am actually disappointed in its reporting of the situation. Considering that 90% of the staff at Cyan have kids or are married, this is actually a devastating time for them. I know the paper might have been trying to make it seem lighthearted – but to me it just came off as painfully harsh. I mean Spokane doesn’t need to lose any good businesses, in fact I think it needs some bigger businesses to invest in the city. Spokane actually has a lot of things going for it. I’m proud I moved here 3 years ago from Minnesota. Anyways, I think I am going to write a letter to the editor. The email address is totheeditor@inlander.com
Peace

It was tasteless and crass of them to sneeringly play up the "nerdy programmers living in their parents' basement" stereotype when talking about a staff of hardworking artists getting laid off.
That kind of off-color "reporting" would never fly in any reputable national paper.
Write your reply to the editor and then please post it here.
I agree, the editor needs a hearty backlash for not only allowing such trash journalism, but for insulting programmers in general and Cyan employees in particular.
Shame on them.
Well that was... enlightening...
E-mailed the editor too... Sheesh.
Completely distasteful.
WOW, lack of research huh? Seems the paper thought it was a bunch of teenagers running the show. Maybe it was a "joke" but definately in poor taste. P.S. I love the game....I hope the genre continues; otherwise I'll have to quit playing PC games :(
